In memory of

Kim Poon

February 23, 1940 -  April 26, 2024

Kim died peacefully in the palliative ward at Markham Stouffville Hospital on April 26th, 2024 at 11:42pm. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 60 years, Hugh, and their children Nathan, Tim, and John. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Avery, Cody, Aubrey, Jamie, and Laurelle. Kim grew up in Vietnam in a large family (her and three younger brothers) and will be missed by her two surviving siblings. Kim worked in language services as a French translator as well as an ESL teacher for new Canadians and was beloved by her many students. She will also be remembered by her church community where she taught Sunday school to pre-school aged children at Toronto Chinese Community Church. Kim also loved to travel and would enjoy sharing these experiences with friends and family. Kim was also very fond of striking up conversations with strangers who would enjoy her warmth and wit. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5th at Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill, ON, CANADA, L4S 1M9 (416-737-1720). So glad to make a trip to see her - even short visit but meant a lot to me when I was able to talk to her, touch her face, to see her smile and gave her my last kiss on her forehead… RIP chị Hai 💕

It was most wonderful to have Kim as a sister in law, she was gentle, kind and full of compassion. She will always be in my memory, particularly that day having lunch in the Swan Lake bistro, so much fun and laughter. May God bless her!

Will always remember her soft-spoken words and gentle smile. Good to know that she is now resting in the embrace of the Lord our Father. May the Lord continue to look after your whole family. Take care.
