In memory of

Kim Chi Luong

October 4, 1936 -  December 15, 2024

Ms. Luong Kim Chi, mother to Mamoru, Toshico (Phuong), Osamu (Mei Mei), and Minoru (Hoan), passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 88 years old. Her final moments were spent peacefully in Toronto Michael Garron Hospital, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Known lovingly as Mah-Mah (grandmother) she single-handedly raised all her children, brought them to Canada from Vietnam, and played a significant role in all of her grandchildren's lives. Kim Chi will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her caring nature, her strength, and perseverance in life. Ms. Luong’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to her family and friends in life, not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her brother Luong Chung Nam (with his family in Alberta), her beloved grandchildren Tetsuya (Dorothy), Seimi (Marcus), Hahiko (Jeanette), Hayuki, Sachiko (Moritz), Lillian, Kenji, Mizuki, Ethan, and her great-grandchildren Elliott, Forrest, and Lucas.

A private ceremony followed by cremation will be held December 28, 2024. Her remains will join those of her mother’s, Ms. Quan Thi Lien, in Hoa Nghiem Temple at 1278 Gerrard Street East in Toronto (Canada).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Michael Garron Hospital in support of the Palliative Care Unit, Brain and Stroke Care at www.mghf.ca/inmemory or to Hoa Nghiem Temple.
