Kenji André was born on October 28, 1978 in the Caribbean island of Dominica. He spent his formative years on the island where his effervescent smile and engaging personality endeared him to his numerous family members and friends.

He migrated to Canada in the early 1990s where he attended secondary school. He later moved to Toronto where he worked as a carded member of the Ontario Iron-Rodman Workers Union until his untimely death.

Kenji was a warm and engaging young man; someone who gave his all to those who knew him. A natural raconteur, he charmed everyone with his knowledge and the great intelligence with which he was blessed. His work colleagues all delighted in his helpful nature and his unique ability to perform any task with great expertise and enthusiasm. Never one to complain or hold a grudge, Kenji dealt with the slings and arrows of misfortune with great maturity and confidence and never wavered in his love of those closest to him.

He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved photography; he loved working out in the gym and loved interacting with the close knit group of motorcyclists with whom he associated. Most of all, he harboured a great love for his young son, Quintyn. Fittingly, one of his last acts of love was to spend the evening before his death celebrating Quintyn's 8th birthday.

Kenji will live forever in the hearts of his son Quintyn, his father Alan André, his mother, Marina Royer-George, grand-mother, Margaret André; step-father Gregory George; step-mother Jose André; brothers, Darius, Corby, Chris & Gregg George; Jamal, Nehemiah and Shayne André; sister Clara George; niece Shaniah; nephew Kai; Aunts Yvonne Casimir, Celia André, Etheline Magloire, Edline Hinds, Clarissa, Lucilla and Irena Royer, Janie Serrant; uncles Eddie Augustine, Ernest, Irving, Lenny & Austin André; Gabriella Rubaine and family and numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

Kenji's untimely passing reminds us that life is a broad canvass on which we paint, through our deeds and actions, a wonderful tapestry which can inspire our friends, family and fellow men and women for generations.

Rest in Peace, Sweet Prince.
