It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Keith Jeffmore Constantine Golding. A proud son of Jamaica, Keith departed this life peacefully on November 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones and leaving behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
Born on April 15, 1935 in Asia, Manchester, Jamaica, to Neressa Daley and John A.L. Golding, and raised by his grandmother Murdella McKenzie, Keith grew up grounded in the strong values and faith that shaped the man he became - compassionate, humble, diligent, and endlessly generous. Throughout his life, he carried an unshakeable love for his island home, its culture, its landscape, its people and its promise.
Keith was known for settling seamlessly in every place he set foot over his 90 years on earth. From the hills of Clarendon, his studies and work took him to Wales and Liverpool in the UK, Guelph, Ontario, Spencerville, Ohio, Montego Bay and Kingston, Jamaica, and finally, his adopted home in Markham. A brilliant man with degrees in Radiology, Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy, he dedicated many years to his profession and public service. After working in the UK, Canada and the US, he returned to Jamaica to do his part in post-independence nation building. He was one of three USAID team members that went to Jamaica to build Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, and went on to leadership roles in the Ministry of Health and State Trading Corporation while teaching at the College of Arts Science and Technology (now UTech) and doing what he loved most – farming in the parish of St. Ann. He was a devoted Methodist and a staunch “Lodge Man” – a Freemason who followed in his father’s footsteps as an active member of Hamilton Lodge in Jamaica. Keith achieved many accomplishments over his lifetime including his presidency of the Jamaica and Caribbean Pharmaceutical Associations and serving as Master of Hamilton Lodge.
Whether through a warm smile, a thoughtful word of encouragement, or a willing hand extended in times of need, he touched the lives of countless individuals. His friends knew him to be steadfast and trustworthy. His family remembers him as a source of strength, laughter, and unconditional love.
Keith will be forever cherished by his wife of 63 years, Fae Valerie Golding; children Faith (Chad), Jonelle (John), Audrea (Derek) and Keith Jeffrey (Elisa); grandchildren, Asheba, Shaka, Kamu, Michelle, Joanna, Maliah, Christian, Leah, Kaden, and Jillian; siblings; extended family; and a wide circle of friends who mourn his loss and celebrate his remarkable life. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charmaine. His memory will live on in the stories he leaves behind and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 1 pm at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill, Ontario L4S 1M9. Interment and reception to follow at the same location. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, November 28 from 4 - 8pm at Elgin Mills Funeral Center. Friends and well-wishers are invited to attend and pay their respects.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
