In memory of

Keith Douglas

December 24, 1944 -  June 29, 2025

80 years of age, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully on June 29th - surrounded by love.

Born just in time for Christmas, on December 24th, 1944 in Georgetown, Guyana. Keith lived a life full of generosity and connection. To Keith the people in his life, friends and family, were everything. The door was always open and his phone was always ringing. He had a gift for making people feel welcome - through a warm smile, a talk or a laugh. Kind and gentle, yet incredibly strong, Keith was a magnetic presence - the life of the party and the quiet anchor in every storm.

He immigrated to Canada in 1979, but his home country was never far from his heart. He has been active in the Ontario chapter of the PNC for several years and is passionate about Guyanese politics. He spent his working years in Canada at the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Science Centre. He retired almost 10 years ago and on a regular day he could usually be found organizing his garage or listening to tunes in the backyard with friends. He also relished time with his grandchildren.

Keith is survived by his wife, Melrose, his sisters, Yvonne, Barbara and step-sister Donna, and sister-in-law, Annette. Keith was the beloved father of Rhonda, Gavin, Mark and Jane, and step-father of Kembha. Father in-law to Corina, Russell and Chris. He cherished his role as grandfather and leaves behind his grandchildren: Rosean, Gabriel, Cameron, Gavin Jr, Tanya, Benjamin, Sampson, Evelyn and Rose. He will be remembered with great love by his large extended family, of cousins, nieces and nephews.

For Keith, family included not only relatives, but also many friends who - through shared history, loyalty and love - became family in every way that mattered and he held them deeply in his heart.

Keith was predeceased by his mother, Netha, his father, Fred, his brother, Frankie, and his brother-in-law, Ken.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Amerindian Peoples Association of Guyana (https://apaguyana.com/), a cause that Keith cared about. Contributions will support a special project, chosen by the family, in honour of Keith's memory and values. Your presence is what matters most. However, if you feel moved to give, please donate by sending an e-transfer to whiskey_memorial@outlook.com, password Guyana and include your name in the message field.

A beautiful soul is never forgotten."
The world seems so much dimmer without their light in it. There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone. We do not remember days, we remember moments. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart. ❤️🙌👏🙏😪😭
