In memory of
Kazou James Ebata
August 8, 1941 -
April 4, 2022
It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that the family announces that James passed away peacefully at the Dorothy Ley Hospice (Etobicoke, ON) on Monday, April 4, 2022 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Better known as Jim, he left an impression on all who met him, brightening people’s day with his cheery demeanor, constant smile and laughter. He was a kind and generous man who always wanted to help others out in any way he could and only ever saw the best in people.
Jim was an avid golfer & enjoyed many years of golfing with his family, friends & colleagues. Family was everything to him, and he loved us all so deeply and was unfailingly loyal. He was one-of-a-kind, a true original who always had his own unique perspective and did things his own way.
He was predeceased by his parents Lillian Shizue & John Izo; and his loving wives Miyoko (nee Nozuye) of 42 years & Jeannie Kazuko (nee Tsuruda) of 5 years. Dear father of Janis (Peter), Sandy (the late Vince Nichols), Craig (Orlana) & Darryl (Anna). Sadly and deeply missed by his siblings Janet (Terry) & Lyle (Lilly). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Samantha (Matt), Victoria, James & Michael, along with his nieces & nephews, relatives & friends.
Visitation will be held at the Meadowvale Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5L5 on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 4-8pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10:30am.
For the burial of James’ ashes, a private ceremony with immediate family will be held at the Highland Funeral Home at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
