It is with great respect and sadness to announce the passing of Katarina "Kaca" Ivancevic. Katarina passed away peacefully in her sleep at Burton Manor Home in Brampton, Ontario March 29, 2026 at the glorious age of 100!
She is pre-deceased by her husband Milan Ivancevic. They shared 57 lovely years of marriage. Though they did not have their own children, Katarina and Milan were Godparents (Kuma and Kum) to many. Katarina outlived her parents, brothers and sisters. Her only sibling who resided in Canada, her sister Jelena (Seka), passed away at the age of 102 several years ago in Toronto.

The ending of World War 2, was a new beginning for young Katarina, with love and eventual overseas travel together with her husband Milan to forge their new life in Canada. They married in England on August 27,1949. Their welcoming home always had a door open to the Serbian and Canadian community. She loved to cook, host parties and share stories.

Katarina (Vranich) was born in Croatia and became a staunch supporter of the Serbian Freedom Fighters and continued her commitment to the Serbian Orthodox church and active in the Serbian community into her later years.

Milan and Katarina were pivotal in the growth and improvement of the Serbian church on Delaware St. in Toronto. Also, creative contributors to the Toronto based annual event known as Caravan.
Their tireless work could not be respectfully summarized in these few words.

Katarina was skilled at needlepoint, and had her works presented in local art shows, winning awards. She gifted many of her pieces over the years and continued her needlepoint into her 70's.

Her infectious laugh will be a fond memory to many.

Vjecnaja Pamjat... memory eternal.
