In memory of

Karin Claudia Amato

November 28, 1952 -  June 11, 2022

Following a long and courageous 41 year battle with multiple sclerosis, it is with
great sadness that we announce the passing of Karin Claudia Amato, peacefully
at her home surrounded by her family, in her 69th year, in Scarborough. Karin
was the daughter of the late Erich and Hilda Kolb (née: Gass) She was born
in Weingarten, Germany on November 28, 1952 and came to Canada in 1957.
She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband and soul mate of 43
years, Frank. Cherished and loved mother of Stephanie and Matthew. Adored
and proud-loving Oma of Damion. Treasured sister of Rosemarie (Peter
Birkholz) and Brigitte Losberg. Beloved “Goddy” of Monica, Veronica and Livia.
Daughter-in-law of the late Giuseppe and Erminia Amato.
Special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Dearest friend of JoAnn Kapolka
and Frances Ferguson.

Karin and Frank married on May 12th, 1979. She was a certified art teacher and
graduated from U of T Scarborough. She worked many years at the head office
at TD Bank. She was incredibly creative and enjoyed many forms of fine arts.
Karin did numerous crafts and held her own craft sales for many years. She
loved all of her various collections from thimbles to comic books and everything
in between. She enjoyed spending time reading, doing crossword puzzles,
listening to 50’s and 60s music, spending time with her puppies, and a lover of
comedy, thriller/horror and mystery films.

Karin had a remarkable strength within her. No matter what hardships she
endured, she always had a smile on her face. As a result of her generous spirit
and pleasant personality, Karin was loved by many and her contagious laughter
will be deeply missed. Her kindness and positive influence will forever remain in
the lives of all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered with great
fondness by her family and friends for her grace, and devotion to her family. Our
world is certainly a darker place without her brightness.

The family would like to thank the staff of SE Health and Dr. Sandra Marcus for
the compassionate care and support.

We truly thank all of our friends and family for their support and condolences.
In keeping with Karin’s wishes, the family is having private invitations for visits
for the celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would
be appreciated by the family.

We will miss you Goddy! You were such an inspiration to so many people! I have so many memories especially the ones from the many craft sales in your basement. It was so exciting when someone would buy our handiwork. Lol. Blessed be. May you now do all that you couldn’t

Xoxo

When the girls would go to Grand Bend for the annual craft show, Karin would pick out something and when we returned home, she would teach us all how to make it. She was so talented and creative. One of my favourites was the pumpkin and I still put it out every Halloween and think of her.
My condolences to Karin's family.
