In memory of

Kamilla Saar

May 28, 1930 -  June 21, 2025

With profound sadness and deep appreciation for her life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother/Ema, Kamilla Saar, who peacefully departed in her sleep on Saturday, June 21st, 2025.

Ema was the cornerstone of our family. Her boundless kindness and generosity positively impacted many lives, accompanied by a quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew her. She cherished simple pleasures—spending time with family and friends, sewing, and baking her renowned Saia/Kringle and perogies (“footballs”) for family gatherings. Her presence imbued every moment with warmth and belonging, while her laughter enriched countless memories.

Born in Estonia in 1930 and moved to Canada in 1951, Ema lived a full and remarkable 95 years, characterized by grace, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones. Her gentle spirit and warm smile made all feel welcome in her vicinity. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, Ema selflessly gave to those around her. She taught us the values of compassion, humility, and perseverance, leaving behind a legacy of love and integrity that will continue to guide us.

She is survived by her children: Mati (Carol), Paul, Evi (Ian), Markus, Eddy, and Elle-Mai; her grandchildren: Lindsay, Kelly-Anne (Aaron), Demian (Sue), Carrie (Aaron), Evan (Conner), Leah (Cory), Brooke (Curtis), Braeden, Taylor (Nick), Cassidy, and Mark Jr.; and her great-grandchildren: Georgia, Jordan, Abigail, Clara, Aurora, Brooklyn, Chase, Ethan, Noah, Rhett, Blake, Chloe, Nova, Alaia, Arya, and Liam. Additionally, she leaves behind her brother Arvi (Evy) and nephew Peter (Patricia). Each of us will forever cherish her memory and hold her close to our hearts.

We find solace in knowing she is reunited with our father, Eimar, and siblings, Alar, Liivi, Kersti, Harry, and Miki, with their collective love continuing to surround and protect us.

Although our Ema is no longer with us physically, her love, spirit, and memory will perpetually reside in our hearts. Kalli, kalli, ema. 💙🖤🤍

A celebration of our Ema's extraordinary life will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Funeral Centre, starting at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance and share the cherished memories she has left behind. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home, or donations can be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation.
