February 13, 2023
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kai Sang Ronald Ho (Kai or Ronald) was the eldest child of Tak Hung Solomon Ho and Kwai Fong Chan. Ronald grew up in Cheung Sha Wan and Sham Shui Po area in Kowloon and graduated from Gertrude Simon Lutheran College in 1992. In the same year, his whole family immigrated to Montreal, Canada. Though Ronald was admitted to Computer Science programs at various universities, including University of Waterloo, he ultimately went to McGill University. In 1997, after earning a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics with First-Class Honours, he began his career at Nortel Networks in Ottawa. As a member of Emmanuel Alliance Church of Ottawa, he was baptized in 1998. He moved from Ottawa to Toronto in 1999 and joined MDS Sciex and worked there until he resigned in 2016 when he decided to start seminary studies at Tyndale Seminary.
He met his wife Josephine Tse (Jo) in 1996 during his co-op with IBM in Toronto. Jo and Ronald got married in 2002 and moved into their Markham home in 2006. They were blessed to have three beautiful children during their 20 years of marriage.
Ronald always unconditionally supported the interests and endeavours of his three children and placed theirs above his. He was always there for his family no matter what. He enjoyed reading, cooking, cycling, watching action and animation movies, playing guitar, jazz music, and serving others. He was a kid at heart - you could often find him devoting time to playing boardgames and Legos with the kids, practicing baseball in the parks, and watching their favorite shows. He listened, led and guided during conversations but we also got to enjoy his silly and playful moments.
In July 2021, Ronald was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He inspired and encouraged many of us with his courage and resilience in facing the disease. His faithfulness to Christ and his devotion to his family never wavered. Ronald will be remembered as a committed servant of Christ and had served in children, adult and elderly ministries at churches.
Ronald was a gentle, caring, loving, patient and thoughtful husband and father and he was a faithful and passionate follower of Christ. Ronald will be forever respected, loved and missed by his wife and children. He had touched many lives - he will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated, considerate and kind human being and dearly missed by everyone.
