In memory of

Judith Mary Webster

June 22, 1934 -  May 11, 2017

Webster, Judith Mary Jephcott. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judith on May 11, 2017 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, John David in 2004, the adored and cherished mother of Mary Katherine Rosebud Webster, Elizabeth Arathoon Webster Surkin (Lee), and Victoria Anne Webster Brosman (Michael) in whose lives she rejoiced. Precious grandmother, Judith adored all of her grandchildren, Grace, Julianna, Jeneviève, Sasha, Hannah, David, Muriel and Sophie. Dearly loved sister of Geraldine Nightingale (George) and Cynthia Luks (Eric) and their children. Loving companion to her dogs Barrie, Emma and Teddy.

Born in Toronto, Judith was the daughter of Edna and Gerald Jephcott. She attended Branksome Hall and studied at Trinity College, U of T on scholarship, graduating in 1955. She later taught at Branksome Hall before her marriage.

Judith was a loving, supportive and positive member of her community and an active member of St. Clement’s Church (Eglinton). A good and sympathetic friend to many, she was also charming, witty and fun-loving. Her particular interests included classical music and Judy studied piano for many years. She also had a keen interest in flowers and reforestation and enjoyed growing various species of trees.

Many thanks to the staff of The Meighen Manor and caregivers Marietta and Michelle for their kind, and attentive care. Judith particularly enjoyed art classes, Vesper services and canine visitors.
In keeping with Judith's directions, her final arrangements will include a graveside service in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, at a future date, when the flowers are in bloom.

"Death is not the extinguishing of the light, but putting out the Lamp because the Dawn has come." Tagore

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Meighen Manor, Parkinson Canada or The Toronto Humane Society.

I am sorry to hear of Judy's passing. I have great memories of Judy. We had a lot of fun during our school years, at Branksom Hall and U of T. She was also one of my bridesmaids. Judy had a wonderful sense of humour! My prayers and thoughts are with the family.
