Young, Josephine So-Lan. It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine So-Lan Young announces her passing at Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit, peacefully on October 2, 2017 at the age of 77, surrounded by her closest family. Loving mother of Felix Young, proud grandmother of Erin Smith-Young, and life partner of Alan Purdy. Daughter of Ho Sau-Chun (mother) and Lau Chi-Yuen (father). Beloved sister to her many siblings. Josephine will be fondly remembered by her many students, friends from church, large extended family, and close friends. Visitations will be held on Saturday, October 7, from 5 pm to 9 pm, and Sunday October 8, from 9 am to 10 am at the York Visitation Centre at 160 Beecroft Rd, North York. A Catholic funeral mass will take place on Sunday, October 8, at 10 am in the York Visitation chapel, followed by a reception, celebrating Josephine’s life. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Sunnybrook Foundation, the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish (Toronto), or a charity of your choice.
