In memory of

Josephine "Josie" Harriet Chong

March 7, 1940 -  March 25, 2023

Surrounded by her 3 sons, Josephine died peacefully on March 25, 2023, at the age of 83. Widow to devoted husband Ronald. She was the daughter of Leo and Belinda. She will be lovingly remembered by her family in Newfoundland; brothers Leo and Albert and sister, Linda and their families. She will be dearly missed by sons Paul (Karen), Chris (Jaime), Wayne (Kathryn) and step-daughter Rawni (Matt). She was a proud and devoted Grandmother to Shawn, Ryan, Patrick, Kayla, Eric, Kate, Sam and Will. Great Grandmother to Keegan, Carter, Olivia, Emma, Max, Zoe, Madison and Liam.

Travel was something special for Ron and Josie, with Cuba especially, being a destination of choice. A gifted musician with a soft and sweet voice. Whether it was hours spent around a campfire or just sitting around with friends or family. For years she was an active member of the Toronto Signals marching band and supporter to the Optimist Alumni Corp. Music followed her to retirement home living, where she would perform on the piano, for the residents, on a regular basis.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre - Pickering, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering, Ontario, L1W 3T9. Service will begin at 11:30am followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinsons Canada.

Mom you will always be missed, As Karen and I enjoyed visiting with you.
We enjoyed having breakfast with You & Ron at eggsmart when we got together on those Sunday mornings.
Karen always made sure your Orchids were watered so you could enjoy their flowers and also cared for you as much as if you were her own mother.
Mom you had a way of making people feel comfortable and loved to those that you were close too!
You also had a way of always seeing the good in people.
You will always be in our hearts, Love Paul &, Karen
