It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Goncalves DeMoura on the morning of Monday December 9, 2019 at Guildwood Extendicare at the age of 87. Joe was predeceased by 58 days by his loving wife Beatrice of more than 64 years.
Joe is survived by his caring family Dina (Ed), Henry (Jennifer) Joseph (Pam) Denise (deceased) and Anita(Dan deceased). Proud Grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Joe is survived by his brother Tony of Scarborough and sisters; Irene, Analia and Otilia and predeceased by brothers Henry, John, Fred and sisters Anoelia, and Celina.
Joe was born in Madeira, Portugal where he met the love of his life Beatrice. They emigrated separately to North America but were reunited in 1954 and married in 1955. They settled in Toronto and raised a fine family in the Beach. Joseph's greatest joy was to spend time with his family and when everyone could get together he was the proudest family man, deriving pleasure from everyone's company and taking great pride in all that they accomplished.
Joseph shared a passion for gardening with his wife Beatrice and together they enjoyed many productive hours tending to their garden and sharing their bounty with family.
He will be deeply missed by all but our family finds comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loving wife Beatrice and their devotion is a great inspiration to us all.
