In memory of

Jose Milhomens

February 2, 1953 -  November 24, 2020

With heavy hearts, the family of Jose Milhomens is saddened to announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather on November 24, 2020. He passed away peacefully at home at the age of 67 surrounded by his loved ones. He battled the last two years of his life with pancreatic cancer.

He was born to parents Manuel and Adelina Milhomens on February 2, 1953 in Sao Miguel Azores.

He was the husband of Lisete Milhomens, the father of Kelly Furtado, Dianne Sousa and Kevin Milhomens. He was the father-in-law of Marco Furtado, John Sousa, and Chanelle Garcia. He was the grandfather of Hailey Sousa, Cameron Milhomens, Keira Furtado, Jace Milhomens, Carson Sousa and Emma Furtado.

Jose Milhomens was always in good spirits, he loved to cook, garden and have a good time listening to his band music and watching his soccer team Sporting play on TV. He loved his down south vacations with family and friends and especially his tequila shot. He always had a smile on face not matter what. He was a hard-working man to provide for his family. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends to laugh, drink and dance. He will be missed by all.

He had the will to live and the strength to survive but God wanted him by his side. We know that you are in a better place and not suffering anymore. Just remember you will always be in our thoughts and especially in our hearts. You will greatly be missed, and always be loved, until we meet again.

Dear father,
I hope you can hear me. Already, I miss your smile, your voice and your warm embrace. This still feels like a bad dream. My mind has been playing memories like I rewinded a old VHS tape. Reminiscing the beautiful, happy, sun filled days that I remember growing up. Spending a lot of time with you outdoors; mowing the lawn, raking leaves, swinging on my swing set you bought us and bike riding to the video store to buy movies for the weekend.
Im going to miss our family weekend barbecues at the beaches, the horse back rides that you would give me through the house on your back. I remember how fast you would come to me when I would scream in fear because there was a spider in my room, You would grab it with a tissue and then chase me around the house with it. I am going to miss the delicious, huge Sunday feasts that you would make for us, we never went hungry. We have been through good times and bad, through thick and thin but that’s what makes us strong. I remember how mad you were when you found out I was pregnant and then how proud you were when Hailey was born. Life right now feels so sad and dark without you. Dad, you have taught me to be the strong, hard working woman I am today. I love and miss you so much.

Dad in Heaven
Although you sleep in Heaven now
You’re not that far away
My heart if full of memories
And you’re with me everyday
You lived your life with meaning
And with a smile upon your face
A world that was full of happiness
Is now an empty place
People say that only time
Will heal a broken heart
But just like me and you, Dad
It has been torn apart
I know you are a t peace now
And in a place where you are free
Meet me at the Pearly Gates
When Heaven calls for me

In Loving Memory of a special Husband
The day you left and gained your wings
My heart just broke in two
I wish you could have stayed with me
But Heaven needed you.
You left me with the memories
And I love you dearly still
No matter how much time goes by
You know I always will.
You were a very special person
With kindness in your heart
And the love we had together
Grows stronger now we're apart
I know I cannot bring you back
Although I wish it everyday
But a piece of me went with you
The day you went away..
Love you forever your wife Lisete

Thank you for being my godfather
Jose Clemente
I know your love is special and will guide me along the way your caring hand will make me laugh and wipe any tears away
I know you were chosen because of you are.
To listen lead and guide me on journeys near and far.
I reallly am so lucky and I thank the stars above for when it comes to godfathers
I've got the best to love ..

It wasn’t easy watching your family loose you that day, especially watching from the outside in. You were a strong man, you fought hard that’s no doubt but enough was enough. You left this world loved by your family and grandkids by your side. I hope you know how much you meant to everyone, and how anyone that knew you had a great memory or story to share. Thank you for raising such great kids, especially Kevin, and for accepting me into your family along with all my animals, I know they drove you crazy some days but you loved them . Thank you for all the memories you’ve shared with mine and your sons children and being a good and loving grandpa to them. I will forever be grateful for everything you’ve done for me and my little family.
To: Lisete, Kelly, Dianne and Kevin
My heart truly goes out to you all
R.I.P gone to soon, but never forgotten.
