Jose “Joe” Aguiar passed away suddenly at his home in Scarborough on November 10, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on December 28, 1961, Joe lived a life filled with heart and laughter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Aguiar (née Wilson). He was predeceased by his parents, Damaso Moniz Aguiar and Silvana Daneota Aguiar (née Pinareta), as well as his brother John and sister Maria—each of whom he held close in his heart. He will be missed by all of his family.

Joe was known for his big heart and generous spirit. Joe loved hosting and sharing sociable drinks with friends and family. He especially enjoyed playing cards, where his competitive streak and sense of humor shone through. A tireless worker, Joe took great pride in all he did and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He cherished his Portuguese heritage and found joy in the traditions that connected him to his roots.

His laughter, loyalty, and love will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

To our Dorothy,
We are shocked and heartbroken of the sad news to hear suddenly that Joe passed away. Our hearts are saddened by your loss and our thoughts are with you. Please accept our deepest sympathies. We are here for you my dear friend. Joe may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Joe was jolly, had a laugh that was contagious, put up a great debate in conversation and you could not get anything past him but most of all he had an huge heart and was there for anyone who needed a friend. We had good times. Those who we hold close in our hearts will never leave but live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they have brought into our lives. My condolences for the loss of your husband Joe. I was so sad to hear the news of his passing. I will always remember his kindness. When I had a problem with my car and he ran to come and help me. I was so thankful to Joe. May he rest in peace. Sincerely Lionel Cardoso (Son of Angelo Cardoso)
