On Monday, October 23, 2017, John William Goddard passed peacefully in his sleep at the Royal Victorian Hospital ICU in Barrie. John is survived by his wife and soul mate Heather, sister Rose and brother-in-law Tom Parker. John will be sadly missed by his best friend Dexter and lovingly remembered by family and friends in his role as husband, brother, father, uncle, great uncle and most of all friend. John will begin his journey with visitation at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787) on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6-8 pm. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at 12 pm in the Great Hall with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow. Our sincerest thanks to the Royal Victorian ICU division where words cannot begin to extend our appreciation for the expertise, dedication and compassion shown by every member of the team. We were blessed to begin our relationship with John as neighbours in Wilmot Creek 4 years ago and even more fortunate to become close friends with him...watching his silhouette walking out to the lakeshore with Dexter is indeed a happy memory for us.
