It is with great sadness we announce that the boisterous Stewart clan has lost its loudest member. John passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Jeanette and his daughters Claire (Doug) Ramsay and Carolyn (Ian). Adored Papa to Stewart, Leah and Patrick. He will be greatly missed by his whole extended family, in particular his siblings Alex (Evelyn), Colin (Catherine), Morag (Graham) and Gordon (Shona). Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on October 23, 1953 to Alex and Helen Stewart (predeceased), John came to Canada in 1975. In due course, he began his own contracting business which spanned over three decades (J.T. Stewart General Contracting Ltd.). John was a true Scotsman but also a proud Canadian. His love of life will live on in the family he took such pride in and adored. Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229), for visitation on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior.
