In memory of

John Thomas Stewart

October 23, 1953 -  April 10, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce that the boisterous Stewart clan has lost its loudest member. John passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Jeanette and his daughters Claire (Doug) Ramsay and Carolyn (Ian). Adored Papa to Stewart, Leah and Patrick. He will be greatly missed by his whole extended family, in particular his siblings Alex (Evelyn), Colin (Catherine), Morag (Graham) and Gordon (Shona). Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on October 23, 1953 to Alex and Helen Stewart (predeceased), John came to Canada in 1975. In due course, he began his own contracting business which spanned over three decades (J.T. Stewart General Contracting Ltd.). John was a true Scotsman but also a proud Canadian. His love of life will live on in the family he took such pride in and adored. Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229), for visitation on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.

Dear Jeanette, Claire and Carolyn...While we only had the good fortune of being in the presence of your husband, dad...a few times, one thing we knew for sure...he was the life of the party and always made us feel like we were family. We are heartbroken over your loss and hope you find comfort and peace with the memories you have of him and the love and strength of your devoted family.
Our deepest condolences...
Maureen and Chris
