In memory of

John Ronald “Ron” Glen

March 3, 1943 -  July 22, 2025

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of John Ronald Glen, known to most as Ron, on July 22, 2025, at the age of 82. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, love, and laughter in his final hours.

Born on March 3, 1943 Ron found joy in the everyday moments—catching up with family over coffee, sharing a laugh, or soaking in a sunny afternoon at the ball park. A devoted Blue Jays fan through and through it was a love he passed on to his daughters, creating a shared bond over countless innings, games, and seasons. Whether they were watching from the stands or from the living room, those moments together were some of his happiest.

Ron was a loving and devoted father and grandpa. He cherished his time with his girls, Vanessa (Eddie) and Lauren (Dylan), and their children Danica, Hudson, Marlo and Sloane.

Ron was known for his steady presence, his wit and his unforgettable laugh. He had a gift for making people feel welcome, heard, and loved—traits that defined not just how he lived, but how he’ll be remembered.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery at 625 Birchmount Rd. Scarborough, where family and friends will gather to honour his memory, share stories, and celebrate the lasting impact of a life well lived.

Ron, we are all heartbroken to lose you. One of the most positive, funny, and wise people we all ever knew. You played a perfect game, went extra innings, batted 1.000 and you are now safe at home.

Ron and I were great friends and long-time co-workers, going back nearly 50 years. One of the nicest gentlemen it has been my privilege to know. A man of quick wit, good humour and gentle nature. He rarely spoke ill of anyone not wearing a New York Yankees uniform. He belongs in the Dads Hall of Fame and will easily make it there on the first ballot. Ron was a great support for me over the years and always wanted to know how my family was doing - he was that kind of a caring guy. We had so many laughs and good times together, both at work and at play. He brought his own unique brand of hilarity into the workplace, and made it so much better for us all. See you on that great golf course in the sky, my friend!

I shared many adventures and laughs with Ron. He was a great companion who could always be counted on to see the funny and/or absurd side of any situation. My condolences to his extended family and many friends.
