WILSON, John Robert LLB

Of Toronto and Lucknow, ON, died after a lengthy battle with cancer on Nov 3, 2018 at age 66 in Toronto surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Virginia (Ginny) Duff MD, and devoted father to John-Alex Duff-Wilson. Son of the late John (Jack) Douglas Wilson and the late Doris Kathleen Wilson (nee Webster) and stepson of the late Helen May (Kimber) Wilson (nee Harris). He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Janet Dickie (Walter) and Joan Wilson and by his nieces and nephews, Hannah, James, Jacob, Tammy, Rob, Andrew, Sarah and their families.

John recently retired from arbitration with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He has been working with York Street Dispute Resolution. He served on the Consent and Capacity Board for 10 years. He was excited by his recent appointment as Vice Chari to the Aggricultrual, Food and Rural Affairs Tribunal.

John was passionate about his farm, his horses, his vines, anything French and anything nautical. A brilliant mind who delighted in witticisms.

Memorial service to be held at Mt. Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd, (East gate entrance) on Sunday, Nov 18, 2018. Visitation at 1 pm with service to follow at 2 pm in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory can be made to The Esophageal Research Fund at Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, The Foundation Fighting Blindness, or Balance for Blind Adults.
