<div itemprop="description"> <b> &#8203;John Nabil Bassili </b> , PhD -&nbsp; <i> Scholar, Inventor, Entrepreneur </i> <br /> <br /> It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John, a loving husband, devoted father, faithful friend, Professor of psychology and president of Deuce Industries Ltd. <br /> <br /> John loved life and all it had to offer. &nbsp;He embraced intellectual challenges and relished good times. &nbsp;He was intensely involved with family, the restoration and racing of cars, the renovation of houses, the building of garages, tennis courts and ball machines, travel, culture, music, photography, technology, gastronomy, wine tasting, cinema, tennis, equestrian, books, and everything else he turned his mind to. <br /> <br /> John created Deuce Industries which supported his need to tinker and apply his business savvy. &nbsp;While Deuce was his baby, the Department of Psychology at UTSC was his joy. &nbsp;In his 36 years at UTSC he published many papers and contributed to books, chapters and reviews. &nbsp;As chair of the Psychology department, John spearheaded new graduate programs in clinical psychology and brain imaging. &nbsp;He also mounted programs in Mental Health Studies. <br /> <br /> John passed away surrounded by family on March 3, 2013. &nbsp;Loving husband and best friend of Susan (nee McCallion). &nbsp;Father of Daniel and Tara. &nbsp;Son of Elie. &nbsp;Predeceased by his mother Mimi. &nbsp;Dear brother of Joseph (Marie Chame). Missed by his aunt Aida. Also missed by his nieces, Breanne and Muriel (Bruno) and their children Samuel and Estella Marie, and his nephew Jean-Paul (Christine) and their son Vincent. &nbsp;Brother-in-law to Brian (Eva), Robert, and Anthony (predeceased).&nbsp; <br /> <br /> Donations in John's memory would be welcomed by the Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Foundation, Kensington Hospice, and the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada. <br /> <br /> </div>
