In memory of

John Joseph Quinn

October 11, 1948 -  September 8, 2025

Jack, devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at his beloved farm at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 54 years; his three children, John (Jodi), Kate (Alex), and Lewis Michael (Margo); his grandchildren, Jack, Clare, Hugo, and Cora; and his sisters, Elizabeth Quail and Jane Childers. Jack grew up in Indiana, where he met and fell in love with Barbara. Jack went on to do his undergraduate studies at George Washington University before completing law degrees at Indiana University and Yale. In 1976, he and Barbara immigrated to Canada, where he taught law at the University of Western Ontario, Osgoode Hall and as a visiting professor at Georgetown University. Jack later entered private practice specializing in competition law at Blake, Cassels and Graydon. Following a successful career, he took early retirement to spend time on his farm. Jack loved discussing politics and economics, exploring the outdoors and spending time with family and friends from all walks of life. He possessed a fierce intellect and always took pride in his numerous academic and professional accomplishments. However, he was proudest of the life he and Barb built for their family. His children and grandchildren are his true legacy. He will be dearly missed. A Ceremony of Life to be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre on October 18th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Nature Conservancy of Canada are sincerely appreciated
