In memory of

John Guenther Knopp

January 12, 1964 -  May 22, 2017

John G Knopp passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 22, 2017 from a massive heart attack while mowing his lawn at the young age of 53. He grew up in Montreal Quebec Canada and, as a teenager, loved camping and danced in German and Hungarian folklore dance groups. John eventually move to Ottawa with his faithful cat Charles and then to Mississauga Ontario where he met and married the love of his life, Susan, whom he cherished for over 20 years. He was a highly respected senior project/geotechnical engineer, godfather and an all around good person and friend. John was a sweet, fun-loving soul who loved planning Super Bowl/Grey Cup parties, cycling in the Becel Ride For Heart, photography, cooking and just sharing good times with his beloved friends. John is survived by his wife Susan, their cats Sandy, Ali, Josie and Toby, as well as his mother Elisabeth and sister Erika.

Greatly saddened to hear about John's sudden passing. I fondly remember back to the days when we were all part of the dance group and spent time together as young teenagers. My heart goes out to the family and friends during this difficult time. Christina Kupfer

John Knopp, one of my closest and dearest friends of over 40 years passed away on May 22, 2017. Even though we lived over 400 km from each other since many years, we remained life long close friends. He was family to me and I miss him. Cherish the time you have with people you care most about in your life and let them know how much you care. Telling someone that you care about them can take a lot of courage but it is worth it.

John, you've been my oldest and dearest friend since the days of Sunday School. We've biked, camped, danced, drank, skied, swam and joked with one another for over 40 years.

I can't believe you're gone, and to think that our last conversation Friday prior to your passing, we laughed and joked about old times and I was thrilled that you were planning to visit us out west.

Bless you, and I'll never forget you brother.

Love always.

George, Danica and family.
