In memory of

John R. E. Bacon

October 11, 1956 -  March 20, 2024

The family of John is deeply saddened to announce his passing on March 20, 2024. He is survived by his loving partner Ferne, his brothers Jim (Colleen), Bill (Virginia), Andrew (Patricia), his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Christopher, Lindsey, Laura (Brian), Robyn (Brad), Cassandra (Hannah), Juliet, great nieces Noelle, Nora, Kaylee and his beloved parrot Rumpole.

John was a kind, compassionate and generous soul. He touched the lives of so many. He was a private and quiet person, but also witty and fun. Anyone who knew John was touched by his kindness, humour, and mild temperament. He was truly a peacemaker and was always a source of positivity.

John was a passionate Blue Jays fan. His unwavering support of the team will be missed by many, including the players themselves.

John was fortunate to share many adventures travelling. He always felt the most at peace when in Kauai, Hawaii, where he enjoyed the beaches and scuba diving.

He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and love. He will be sorely missed.

A service will be held at Meadowvale Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Service to follow at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Dorothy Ley Hospice.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown.

I was very sad to hear of John’s illness and then his passing.
John was very kind to me over the almost 17 years of working with him. His patience and understanding over those years meant a lot to me and my children.
John you will definitely be missed by my family!
I pray that God may rest his soul in peace.
My most sincere condolences to Ferne and Rumpole!

To Ferne and the Bacon family,
I was heartbroken to hear of John's sudden passing. He was such a sweet, fun loving man. Although we didn't see each other often, he made a point to come into Toronto for my son's wedding this passed June. It was greatly appreciated.
Ferne, I am here for you and always will be. Just call and I will be by your side, just like when we were kids.

My deepest condolences to the Bacon family and friends. John was a kind soul who helped us buy our first and our second homes. I had the privilege of attending Bills and Jay's games with the Bacon brothers and friends, fun memories I will cherish and never forget. Rest in Peace.

I was deeply saddened to hear of John’s passing.
I had the pleasure of working with John for over 17 years. John was the embodiment of a true gentleman. He consistently displayed impeccable etiquette and went out of his way to make me feel valued and respected. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to know John. He was a special person who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
My sincere condolences to Ferne and the Bacon family.
