In memory of

John Douglas Campbell

March 30, 1948 -  March 28, 2018

With great sadness, John’s family shares the news of his death from heart failure at Sunnybrook Hospital. He will be deeply missed and always remembered by Janet, his wife of 44 years, his daughter Kristin, his son-in-law Brendan Gray, grandchildren Lesley and Patrick, extended family, friends, and neighbours.

John had a rewarding 28-year career in vocational rehabilitation of which he was very proud. John had perspective, insight, and a positive attitude which allowed him to face many health challenges over his lifetime without losing his sense of self or purpose. Over the past 4 years, his greatest joy was laughing and playing with his much loved grandchildren!

A celebration in honour of John will be held on Saturday, April 28th from 4-7pm at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre. Tributes will begin at 5pm.

Donations in memory of John may be made to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, or UHN Toronto Rehab Foundation.

I am so sorry Kristin and Janet. Your dad was such a kind and loving man. All of my memories of him and spending time with your family involve lots of smiles and laughter.

Janet, Kristin & Family,

We will very much miss the Mayor of Hillsdale. We have so many fond memories of porch talks with John... especially catching up on the latest neighbourhood news. Janet, you have been such a pillar of strength through all of this, and we hope that you will lean on your friendly next door neighbours to get you through the next little while. We are here for you, and so very sorry for your loss.

We are so sorry to say we won't be able to make it on the 28th... very sad to miss it.

With lots of love,
Jenn, Ken, Jillian & Evelyn
