In memory of

John Chronis

October 27, 1966 -  August 27, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of John Chronis. John passed away suddenly on Friday, August 27th, 2021 at the age of 54. He was born on October 27th, 1966 to Christos and Paraskevi (Vivi) Chronis (nee Athanasopoulos), in Toronto, Ontario. He was the youngest of two children, and was cherished by his older brother, Peter. Predeceased by his loving parents and brother. Survived by his many relatives and friends, he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his aunts, Katina, Sotiria, Maria, and Eleni, uncles, Giorgos and Ioannis, cousins, godchildren, and friends who over the course of his life, also became family.

John was a gentle soul with a tender heart, and had an unmatched gift of bringing people together. His kind and loyal nature led him to facilitate introductions which led to many lifelong friendships and treasured connections, including some marriages. He was a rock and roll enthusiast, and introduced his friends and family to many classic bands that define their taste in music today. He was a sports aficionado, and was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Bears and the Toronto Maple Leafs, and would impressively rattle off the stats for his favourite players. John's family was the centre of his heart, and he always went above and beyond for his loved ones. He never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and was the first to offer a listening ear or words of encouragement when people needed it most. John tended to his parents as they aged with the utmost love, care and compassion, and was a shining example of tenacity to all those around him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his many loved ones.

For those who wish, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of John.

I did not know John well but the few times I had the pleasure to be in his company, you could not help but feel a warmth towards the young man. I do remember the young enthusiastic rock aficionado and hockey buff. My heart felt condolences to his family.
