John "Chung Won" Choi

August 26, 1967 - September 30, 2023

John (Chung Won) Choi was a gentle and loving soul who left this world suddenly on Sept. 30, 2023 at age 56. He will be dearly missed by his devoted parents, Kook Kang & Hoi-Kwon, siblings Yoon and Ron, brother in-law Chris, sister in-law Shira, nephew Oliver, nieces Lilah & Orli, and the amazing community of family, friends, and caregivers that were inspired by his love of life, children, music, and all things Toronto & Canada.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7th at the York Cemetery & Funeral Centre (details below). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation supporting some of the organizations and causes that were impactful to John's life and care (link at the bottom of page).

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers for the Choi family. I did not know John well, but Ron and I were good friends once and so remain, despite not seeing each in many years. The place his brother occupied in Ron’s heart points me to what John meant to many others. God speed on the next stage of his journey.
