I met John around 1979 at Pears Restaurant in Toronto where he was playing jazz. Soon I became friends not only with John but also with his wife Pam and their daughters Deborah and Dawn. Till three years ago John tuned my piano. He was a gentle and kind man. He will be missed by many. May John find eternal rest.

My beloved U.John was a kind-hearted, gentle and charismatic special human being. He was a gifted pianist and a legend in his field. He impacted the lives of students, friends and family with his love of music and his zest for life. In addition to his musical talent he was a homespun gourmet chef. He always lightened the mood with his funny sense of humor. He will be remembered as a wonderful and loving Uncle His lbeautiful legacy will live on forever.
