April 22, 1936 -  February 22, 2018

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John at the North York General Hospital on February 22, 2018 at the age of 81. He will be missed by his siblings Mary, Mimi, and Thalia (Dimi Fragos). Cherished by his nieces and nephews and their children. He will be lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends. Many thanks to the staff at North York General for their kind and compassionate care. Visitation will be held at YORK FUNERAL CENTRE, 160 Beecroft Rd., Toronto (north of Sheppard, west of Yonge St., 416-221-3404) on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 from 9 a.m., until time of service at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at York Cemetery. Mary, Thalia and Mimi,

It is with profound sadness that Lynne and I (while in Florida) learn of the passing of your beloved brother Yianni.

A wonderful man who through pure love of family and friends helped many immigrants from Petrina who were not versed in the language and the norms of a foreign land. Such an admirable quality that we all should respect and honour.

He is woven into the tapestry of a generation of Petrina immigrants of the 1950's,60's and 70's. A legacy that you as his family should be very proud of and honour.

I know the love that my parents had for your brother and for you, a love that has been passed down to my sister and I. We share in your sadness today.

With sincere condolences and warm felt love, may you find strength and comfort in your brother's memory, may God bless you with health to remember him by and may he rest in eternal peace.
