In memory of

Joan Elizabeth Chew

September 3, 1946 -  June 24, 2019

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me,
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when the day is done.

I'd like to leave an echo,
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times, and laughing times,
and bright sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories I leave behind,
when the day is done.

Joan was special. Its rare to find someone who would joke and smile when they are in pain, Joan was that person, she inspired me, when I was in pain she spoke to me and diverted my attention with her little wise cracks. I admired her a lot. A woman of substance.
My deepest sympathy to Elrich and David.
Joan is in a special place where there is no pain and worries...probably dancing and singing.

Dearest Uncle Son, David, and Aunty Cora (though we’ve not met yet),
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this painful time and beyond. Aunty Joan was always full of life and laughter; I hope you find comfort in remembering that when you feel unspeakably sad and miss her.
Just think, though, now you have another angel watching over you from above.
Love always,
Caroline.
