In memory of

Jessie Doris Findlay

August 18, 1932 -  January 22, 2024

Jessie Findlay passed away at Amica Newmarket, ON., on Monday, January 22, 2024.
Mourning her passing are her children; Stephen Anderson (Patricia), Roberta Findlay and Carol Ann Vincent (late Dave). Proud grandmother to Julie Pratt (Richie), Amanda Venditti, Wade Anderson, Linda Anderson, and Jessica Vincent.
Jessie was married to Robert (Bob) Anderson on November 26, 1955, until his untimely passing on December 29th, 1956.
Jessie was welcomed into the Findlay family when she married her beloved husband Kenneth (Roy) Findlay on July 24th, 1964. They happily spent almost 28 years together until his passing January 18, 1992.
Jessie was predeceased by her parents Alex and Annie Byers (nee Wagner)
Jessie was also predeceased by her brothers Wallace Byers (Inez) and David Byers (Donna); brothers in-law, Jack Findlay (late Jean), Mac Findlay (late Joan), Clarence Findlay (Elaine); and sister in-law Gayle Utman (late Norm). She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Loretta Chambers (late Basil), Iva Stewart (late Lindsey), Beulah Moran (late Pat); sister’s in-law, Inez Byers, Donna Byers, Betty Saunders (late Mac), Orma Barkley (late Doug), Elaine Findlay (late Clarence) and brother in-law Don Findlay (Joan).
Jessie will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as the aunt who was always ‘put together’, hair, make up, jewellery and fashion.
Jessie lived her life to the fullest, completing her Nursing degree at Brockville General Hospital in 1954 and proudly cared for patients until she retired in 1992. Jessie spent much of her retirement enjoying golf which she excelled at and was proud of her numerous trophies and tournament wins. Jessie also enjoyed music, dancing as well as travel. Along with many trips throughout Canada, US, Caribbean, and a special trip to Europe she thoroughly enjoyed many winters spent in Florida with family and friends where she was able to hit the links, and the malls throughout the nasty Canadian winters.
Jessie will be missed by her many friends who will remember her as their friend who was always up for a get together whether it be for an evening out to the theater, concert, dinner, dance or gatherings for cards and companionship.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those wishing, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

As I read this obituary and see how many people Aunt Jessie had to list as her family and friends, it is obvious that her life was filled with the joy that she found while interacting with others. Her work as a nurse, her very full social life, golf, cards, music...she loved it all and those who met her through these, and many other pursuits, were all the better for having enjoyed time spent with Jessie. She will be missed by many. To my cousins, Stephen, Roberta and Carol Ann, and to your children, I wish you peace during this time of great loss.

Lots of pleasant memories with Jessie.
We went to horse races, golf courses and travel or just a
real good visit.
