Jerzy Dulat, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on March 19, 2026 in Mississauga.
Born on April 17, 1934, in Poland to Stanisław and Franciszka Dulat, Jerzy’s life unfolded with the quiet grace of someone who had known both hardship and hope. From his early years in Poland, through his university studies, to his courageous journey to Canada in 1978, he carried with him a steadfast resilience and a gentle optimism. In Toronto, he devoted many years to caring for others as a support worker, offering compassion in ways that often spoke more deeply than words ever could.
Jerzy found beauty in the simple rhythms of everyday life. He rode his bicycle as though each ride were a small act of freedom. He followed world events with a thoughtful, curious mind, and he treasured the company of books that kept him learning and imagining. Yet it was classical music that touched him most profoundly—melodies that filled his home, his heart, and the quiet spaces of his days. He passed this love of music to his grandson Justin, a gift that continues to echo through the next generation. Those who knew Jerzy felt that same quiet music in his presence: steady, warm, and deeply kind.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Stefania Dulat; his children, Jack (Sally) and Margaret; and his cherished grandchildren, Justin and Daniel. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, who now welcome him home.
Jerzy will be remembered as a loving, humble soul whose quiet strength enriched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the kindness he shared, the music he cherished, and the gentle way he moved through the world.
