In memory of

Jenny Jung

March 29, 1962 -  September 2, 2022

There’s one less foodie in the world now that our beloved Jenny is gone.

Jenny Jung passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on September 2, 2022 at age 60.

Jenny had an immense passion for food and often joked her license plate should be: ‘I LIVE TO EAT!’. An avid and fantastic cook, Jenny frequently hosted dinner parties for family and friends where she showed off her talents for cooking Chinese cuisine. Nobody ever left the table hungry or went home empty handed.

Known for her quick wit, spirited nature and playful personality, Jenny always left them laughing. Grateful and generous, Jenny had an infectious attitude about how to live and said ‘every day is Christmas’. She didn’t wait for special occasions to celebrate life because every day was a special occasion for Jenny.

She had a long and distinguished career with the Public Health Division in York Region pausing it for a short stint as an ESL teacher and VP of a private English immersion school in China.

It’s there that Jenny not only met her true self, she also met her lifelong friend, Sabrina. Joined at the hip, they travelled by land, air and sea to explore the world…and of course eat the food!

Jenny will be lovingly remembered by her friend Sabrina, brother Kenny (Pat), niece Cassandra (Matthew), nephew Justin and many extended family and friends. Thank you for sharing your life with us, Jenny. We love you and miss you.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 9:00 -11:30AM and burial to follow at 12PM at Mount Pleasant Cemetery Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to Wellspring Cancer Support Westerkirk House.

I’m heartbroken. Card games will never be the same. I smiled every time I saw her.

I was working at the Richmond Hill Country Club and Jenny came to conduct a food inspection. We chatted and because of Jenny, I became a public health inspector!!! I have often thought of Jenny. So sad to hear this news. Love this photo. RIP Jenny!
