In memory of

Jennifer Treloar

October 7, 1952 -  October 22, 2017

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden loss and unexpected passing of our beloved Jenny. Predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Woods (2014) and her brother James Treloar (2010), and survived by her younger sister, Mary Treloar, and cousin, Bill Treloar. Jennifer’s adored and cherished son, Grant Woods, and her nieces, Aislinn and Kiera and nephew, Ross, were all her pride and joy. Her sister in law, Fiona Treloar, was cherished. Her passing leaves an enormous void in their lives. Jennifer also had a wide circle of close friends who are devastated by her loss.

Jennifer was born in London, Ontario in 1952. The daughter of Beryl, a graduate of University of Toronto and James, an Engineer. Jennifer received her undergraduate degree at University of Western Ontario and her law degree at McGill University. She practiced law for almost 40 years as a family lawyer in Mississauga. She has been included on the Best Lawyers in Canada list every year since 2008. Jennifer was dedicated to her clients, always striving to provide the best advice and achieve the best possible result on each file. She was fair minded, always civil and decent and respected by her peers and the Judges she appeared before.

Jennifer had a diverse range of personal interests and skills: gourmet cooking, ballroom dancing, golf, skiing, the arts, fashion and travel. In recent summers, she loved and embraced her time with family and friends at her cottage on Gloucester Pool.

Everyone will have their own special memories of Jennifer. To her small, but tightly knit family she was the thread that bound them together with her strength, pride and love.

Jennifer’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, October 29th at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 3:00pm. A reception will follow at 4:00pm. There will also be a visitation on Saturday October 28th from 6 – 8pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.

Grant,
You have been in our thoughts. Your mom was an incredible woman, and so proud of you. She was a good friend to many, a wonderful neighbour and always lit up the room. She will be missed by everyone on Rolland and Hanna.

We will be with you as a group of neighbours every step of the way. Big hugs from all of us.

I have known Jennifer for over 30 years as a highly respected colleaugue. Lately I came to know her in a different way as we shared insights in how to deal with the loss of a spouse. She will be missed but not forgotten.

We are all shocked at Jennifer's death. A thunderbolt of tragic news. Her sweet smile complemented her professional competence. I will miss her. My condolences to her family.
