Jean, your life was a flame which burned brightly. You saw the good in everyone and everything. You practiced laughter and joy as a matter of routine and we will never forget your perfectly lovely smile, sense of humor and kindness.

We are blessed having known you and we will always treasure the times shared with you. We will miss the presence of a truly loveable and beautiful person. You will remain in our thoughts forever. May your soul rest in peace.

Jean M. Newell
September 14, 1937 - November 21, 2017

Was born September 14, 1937 born in East York and lived there her whole life. Jean had 2 brothers Bob and Neil . Jean also had 3 kids; son Bill, son Ed and daughter Beth and 4 granddaughters Codie, Brianna, Jessie and Kailey.
Love of animals big or small. She had a pet dog named Bo. When her granddaughters were young she liked to take them to one of her favourite outings which was to Sunnybrook stables and Edwards gardens. While at Sunnybrook stables Jean always had to stop and take a picture of her cabin she always wanted in the woods. "My cabin in the woods " she would say. Loved going and seeing the horses out in the paddocks too. Edwards Gardens walked through the paths and looked at flowers and would stop and feed the ducks and chipmunks down by the river.
Jean worked at a home hardware store, liked knowing the tools and helping customers. She also worked at CNIB helping the blind. Even as she was retired she still wanted to work, so she did odd jobs around the house and wanted to get a painting job but her family kept telling her no.
Liked taking pictures of cars at car shows, her favourite car was a Honda civic. Jean was brave as she had gotten her motorcycle licence at the age of 65.
Woke up early every morning to read her newspaper and coffee in hand. She didn't let anything stop her no matter what it was. Jean was a fighter.
Jean passed away on November 21,2017 Peacefully with family. She is no longer in pain but will be truly missed by her whole family.
