In memory of

Jean Louise Dafoe

August 17, 1926 -  November 10, 2021

“Sadly missed along life’s way… Lovingly remembered everyday… No longer in our life to share… But in our hearts you’re always there.”

Jean Louise Dafoe passed away November 10, 2021, at the age of 95, at the home of her youngest son.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Raymond Dafoe in 1999. She will be greatly missed by her sons Lorne, Gordon, and Bruce, her grandchildren Ryan and Max, and her daughter-in-law Susan.

Jean was born August 17, 1926 in Toronto. Both Jean and her husband Gerry were Pharmacists. She was passionate about gardening and reading. Outgoing and energetic, Jean loved to socialize with friends and family. Whether it was sewing or cooking, Jean took great pride in everything she did. She loved travelling and her favourite place to spend time was in Maine near the ocean. She spoke often about the wonderful family memories there.

Jean will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and devotion to those she loved.

We would like to thank Home and Community Care Support Services nurses and caregivers for their assistance. They enabled us to provide palliative care so Jean was able to pass at home surrounded by loved ones.

In memory of Jean and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

What can I say about someone I have known all my life or since I was 2. I grew up next door to Jean and her wonderful family, played with her children and felt like one of them. She always had time for me and I am so grateful for her stories, jokes and advice.
When you love some one, there is never enough time to share with them.
Jean's humour and artistic talents inspired me throughout my life.

To Lorne whom she lived with in her later years, she often commented how much she appreciated the care and kindness you and your family gave her. She was in good hands
To Gord whom she always spoke of so fondly, spending her last birthday with her even though you live so far away I know would have given her much happiness.
To Bruce who lived with her for so many years , I could not look at you and not see your Mom. I know she gave you strength and at times you needed it most.

For me your Mom was my sage, mentor, loving friend and confidant.
My sincerest condolences and love to you All

Gail
