December 21, 2022
On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Jay Mistry, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 51.
Jay was born on June 12, 1971 in Leicester, England to Chandanben and Natvarlal. At age 12, they immigrated to London, Ontario.
Jay was the eldest of 2, with a younger brother Chaten.
Jay and Monisha met in London in 1992 while Monisha was studying at the University of Western Ontario. They were married in 1998, then had Jaiden 6 years later.
Jay studied Health Science at Fanshawe College and Medical Lab Tech at Algonquin College. He went onto to take courses in Supply Chain Management which opened up many doors. Walmart Head Office was his home for 12 years, meeting many longtime friends. His final job was as a Procurement Leader at Chartwell Retirement Residences.
His true love was DJ’ing. Jay DJ’d for over 30 years, countless amazing weddings and events. Many of his friends he met through DJ’ing. He had a way with people which was well known in the wedding circuit.
Cooking was a big part of Jay’s life, he loved food, something him and his mom bonded over. He could be found in the kitchen for hours marinating food, chopping veggies, on the patio grilling, and cooking marvellous dishes. Jay’s palette was accustomed to flavourful, high spice food.
If you were friends with Jay on social media, you would receive multitudes of dog videos all day! His love for dogs was unmatched, every chance he got would be with his dog friends. He even had stuffed dogs that he talked to, namely Shaggy Shawn, Peaches, Coco, KBD, Buddy, Sprinkles, and Spunky.
Jay is survived by his wife, Monisha, his son Jaiden, his mom Chandanben, and his brother, Chaten, Chaten’s wife, Nima, and their kids; Mya Viveka and Dylan Chaten. He is predeceased by his loving father, Natvarlal.
