In memory of
Jason David Young
December 14, 1976 -
January 12, 2022
Jason David Young, beloved son, father, and husband suddenly passed away Wednesday January 12th, 2022, at 11:31PM. He was 45 years young.
Jason was born in St. Josephs hospital, Toronto, Ontario only 5 years after his eldest brother Mark Young. Every Summer up until the age of 15 he would travel to Newfoundland and Labrador with his mother, Joan Young, and brother to visit his grandparents, Ralph and Violet Osmond, Aunt Ruby Pelley, and cousins Kenneth and Laurianne Pelley. He was always the curious and adventurous one causing mischief with grandpa’s farm animals: chasing the roosters and tormenting the sheep.
In Toronto where Jason lived and grew up in Gilder, he continued to cause mischief and the curly white, blond head of hair would always be the giveaway as to who got blamed. He grew up and made lifelong friends in Glen Ravine public school, Corvette public school, and Bendale high school. Jason will later realise that these friends were brothers for life “4ever” to the end.
After finishing up school, Jason worked his first job as a millworker building custom kitchen cabinets and later went on to run his business, Badda Bing Badda Boom Recycling. After success and retiring his business, Jason went on into the labor union where he worked out the rest of his life in the local union as a concrete formwork foreman. Shaping the city skyline with his hard work and dedication to the trade.
In addition to his son, Justin Mierau, Jason is also mourned by his wife Janine Belec, his father, Richard Young, brother, mother, and beloved friends and family.
Jason passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday January 18th, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Pine Hills Cemetery. Due to limited indoor capacity, the visitation and funeral service will be limited to invitation only, but all are welcome to watch the live web broadcast on their computers or mobile device. The outdoor burial will have no restrictions and as many people that knew Jason are welcome to attend.
