In memory of

Jane Sui-Chun Chan

September 18, 1939 -  August 13, 2020

Toronto, ON —Jane Sui-Chan Chan passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2020 in Scarborough, Ontario.

Jane was born in Hong Kong in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1969 together with her husband (Kinson), daughter (Grace) and son (David). Her daughter, Ruth was born shortly after in Toronto, ON.

Those around Jane were blessed with her kindness and generosity in so many ways. She always took joy in providing a helping hand and in cooking for others. She always worked hard and tried her best regardless of any struggles or challenges that she had. In her early days, she worked as a seamstress, a prep cook and later as a postal clerk when she retired in the 1990’s. In her retirement, she enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer with isolated seniors, learn piano and ballroom dancing and to travel to Asia. Her departure leaves a definite void in all our lives.

She is survived by her son, David from Toronto and her daughter, Ruth (Ken), and grandchildren, Samuel, Jenna and Isaac from Regina. She also leaves behind a sister, half-brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews, and extended family in Toronto and Hong Kong.

A memorial service celebrating Jane’s life, will be presided by Rev Peter Mah at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre in North York, on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10:00 am.

The family has been richly blessed by all the support, prayers and kind words from dear family and friends. Interment will occur following the memorial service.

Words, no matter how kind, can’t mend your heartache. However, those who care for you wish you comfort and peace of mind.

Love in Christ.
