In memory of

Jan Sikorski

July 2, 1958 -  September 26, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, nephew, cousin, uncle and dearest friend.

Jan Sikorski left this world peacefully on September 26, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his devoted wife and the people he loved. He received the Sacraments of Last Rites on September 23, 2023.

Jan was born on July 2, 1958, in the city of Kraków, Poland. He grew up in a noble Polish family - Jan’s father was a University Professor and his mother was a respected Medical Doctor.

From his early years, Jan was passionate about knowledge. History, geography, and science fascinated him.
He studied at Jagiellonian University and obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Warsaw.

Jan met his wife Bożena in Kraków and they came to Canada in 1991 to make Mississauga their home.
Despite the difficult beginnings of starting a new life in a foreign country, through his perseverance and determination, Jan began an excellent career, through which he was able to use his educational background.

Jan and Bożena were together for 40 years. They were best friends and partners in everything.
Together, they set a beautiful example of what true love and marriage is and their love story will live on.

Jan was a wonderful person. He had a remarkable strength of character. He did everything with honesty and integrity. Jan had an enormous heart and was always kind, generous and willing to help others, yet remained very humble himself.

Jan was an avid traveller and an excellent storyteller. He loved to see the world and wanted to see even more of it. Jan also had a fantastic sense of humour. He always knew what to say and how to make people laugh. His wit was a gift.

Jan was a truly smart man. He was knowledgeable in so many fields and was analytical, factual and well-versed. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and spent his spare time researching topics of interest or reading books. There were never enough topics to speak with him about.

Whether you spoke with Jan over the phone or spent time with him in person - his positivity and smile lit up the entire room. He made a huge impact on so many lives.

Jan will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. He will live forever in our hearts.

We surely have an Angel to watch over us.

Kochana Bożenko, przesyłamy nasze z głębi serca płynące kondolencje z powodu odejścia Twojego ukochanego Męża a naszego Przyjaciela, Jana.
Jesteśmy z Tobą, z całą Rodziną i gronem Przyjaciół w tym trudnym czasie myślami i w modlitwie.
Piękne wspomnienia z każdego spotkania z Jankiem, Jego mądrości, inteligencji, prawości charakteru, wrażliwości, życzliwości, ciekawych, nieraz niekończących się dyskusji i świetnego poczucia humoru muszą nam wypełnić ogromną pustkę, którą po sobie zastawił.
Żegnaj Przyjacielu!
Dziękujemy, że byłeś.
Spoczywaj w pokoju!
Pozostajesz w naszych sercach.
