I feel compelled to say something about our friend Jim. I remember when I first met Jim years ago when I first joined CAA. It was a great time in my life. I remember speaking with Jim and very quickly becoming friends. When he found out I lived near him he immediately offered to car pool me in to work. He would never accept compensation for fuel or 407 fees , even if I left money on the seat of his car he would find a way to get it back to me. He would just say he enjoyed the company. Every day we would chat during our commute and I got to learn a lot about the man. He could drive a bus , a subway car , a street car , a motor cycle , fly a plane ,drive a boat , hunt , fish , make his own bait , you name it. I began to learn Jim could do anything. He had so many sayings or , “Jimmyisms” that would make us laugh or smile every day, “just sayin”, “its all good” . And if you ever wanted to know a good place to eat just about anywhere in the province Jim could give you a review. I also learned that Jim loved his family , was proud of them and enjoyed spending time with them. I know he felt this way about his friends as well. When we would all car pool together we had such good times. It was fun thinking about going to work and commuting home together as well. We shared a lot of laughs and good times, and what a laugh Jim had, it makes me smile just thinking of it. I’m so glad I had the time I did with Jim, his friendship was genuine and personally my life is better having known him. Even after our time at work together we all stayed in touch and enjoyed each other’s company over a few drinks and food. I’m truly happy we had this time. I just wanted to say this to you because Jim’s wishes were not to have any type of memorial. Knowing Jim the way I did I truly understand this. I just felt I need to say something as selfish as it may be. I will never forget Jim and the time we all had together as friends. Thank you for taking the time to read this ,

Jim and I met in 2005 at CAA in Thornhill. It didn't take long for Jim and me to strike up a conversation about hunting, fishing and guns. That June was the first of many enjoyable fishing and hunting trips we took together with others. From Walleye fishing on the Bay of Quinte to shooting ducks at my family cottage on Quinte and then our annual trips to Quinte for Walleye fishing. Jim and I had a June fishing trip every year from 2005 to 2019. Jim seemed to have a knack for catching the biggest Sheephead every year!
Jim and Ryan Peterson came up to my place in Bruce County a number of times over the years to hunt Turkeys. Lots of good times, good food and good cheer.
During our fishing trips, I used to do the cooking, Ryan would do clean up and Jim was in charge of cleaning the fish. We always had a great time fishing and then relaxing over some great fish fry and a few drinks. Jimmy, you will be missed!
The next time I am fishing for Walleye in Quinte, I will most definitely be missing you.
