Dear Gong Gong,

I wish I could be there to say goodbye in person. I always cherished our Thursday afternoon visits whenever Ian and I were in Toronto, listening to your incredible stories – how you fled China to Hong Kong, met Poh Poh, and built a life in Canada.

As I browse through the pictures of your life, seeing you as a young man, opening the Royal Young Market, raising four amazing kids, and traveling the world with Poh Poh, I find myself wishing I could hear even more about your adventures, both the sweet and the bitter, the highs and the lows. Each photo tells a story, and I can only imagine the countless experiences that shaped who you were.

Thank you for the wisdom, laughter, and love you shared. You are deeply missed. One day, Ian and I will share your stories with your great-granddaughter.

With love,
Kimmy
