So many wonderful memories of Jim.
I will miss him and his presence in our family.
Much love and deepest condolences.
So many great memories with Jim - from the all-night euchre marathons at #18 in the 70's, to the many wonderful parties at the various Hazelton haunts, to the magical time in Cadaqués, to the many, many fun and rejuvenating gatherings at Crowe Lake spanning 50 years. Jim's dry humour and energizing observations were always a big part of the fun.
So many of my happiest memories include Jim. He has also been a special friend and significant influence throughout my life. There are few people I consider to be my favourite but he has always been and will be in that circle.
Everything he has taught me and that I treasure about him will always be very firmly in my heart.
"Yeah the women tear their blouses off
And the men they dance on the polka-dots
And it's partner found, it's partner lost
And it's hell to pay when the fiddler stops."
Closing Time
Song by Leonard Cohen
I have so many fun and happy memories of being with Jim.
They include dinner parties that lasted well into the early morning hours, gatherings around the fire pit at the cottage and selling jewellery at various shows.
I recall having numerous interesting philosophical discussions with Jim on a variety of topics. He had immense knowledge and unique perspectives on so many issues. I especially appreciated his fairness, inclusiveness and belief in equality for all.
Jim's kindness and sense of humor made all of our times together that much happier.
These and many more special memories of Jim will always be with me.
May he rest in peace. xo
