Jimmy was my dad, John Evans’s best friend. I have many fond memories filled with laughter between my father and Uncle Jimmy. Before smartphones — to avoid roaming charges — Jimmy had the idea to use walkie-talkies for our road trips while cross boarder shopping. I’ll never forget the journeys to Buffalo, NY, with our two cars cruising down the QEW: “The Dark Knight” and “The Lone Ranger,” always in communication thanks to Jim.
Jim had a great sense of humor and never missed a chance to remind us to “take your vitamins if you want to look this good at 100!” He was a regular at our family Christmases, a loyal weekly golf partner to my dad, and remained a close friend to him until my dad’s passing in 2013.
May Jim rest in peace. The Evans family sends our sincerest condolences to all who loved him.
