James Fernandes

January 24, 1957 -  August 23, 2023

We are saddened to announce that James Fernandes peacefully passed away at the age of 66 on August 23, 2023. He was predeceased by his father Pedro (Peter), and is survived by his mother (Rose) and brother Noel (Avril). James worked for many years at Ontario Power Generation until his retirement. He was a gifted guitarist and his life revolved around music. James will be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, generous spirit and love of music.

A funeral mass will be held for James on August 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 921 Flagship Drive, Mississauga L4Y 2J6. A reception will follow the mass. We extend our thanks to the physicians and staff at the ER at Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga site for their compassionate and excellent care.

Instead of flowers, donations to a Diabetes foundation would be appreciated.

I roomed with James at Wenderley Drive, Toronto in the mid-80s. He was always calm, thoughtful and generous. I think he was taken too soon.
