In memory of

James Ashwell

December 14, 1967 -  November 3, 2024

James Alan Ashwell passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2024 after a courageous 12-year battle with multiple myeloma. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering support.

James is survived by his loving wife, Tracey Shaw; his daughter, Joanna Lazar, and her husband, Jaime Lazar; and his beloved grandsons, James and Arthur Keeley, who were the light of his life. He is also remembered fondly by Sandra (Jean), Karen (the late Gary), Heather (Stewart), Michael (Jeanne), Kathy, and Jody as well as a wide circle of family, friends, and all those who were fortunate to know him.

A man of great character, James devoted his life to his family and worked tirelessly to provide a future for his grandsons. His love, generosity, and resilience will continue to inspire us, and his memory will forever be cherished. In honor of his legacy, his family will carry on the traditions he held dear, celebrating his life and the countless moments he shared with those he loved.

James will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to Princess Margaret Hospital or Lakeridge Health Oshawa in James’s honor
