In memory of

Jahan Amirparviz

May 1931 - April 2024

We announce with great sadness the passing of Ms. Jahan Amirparviz, who left us peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, surrounded by her loving sons, Amir J. and Alidad Amirfazli, on April 8th, 2024. The daughter of Abolfath Amirparviz and Farkhondeh Eskandari, Jahan was born in Tabriz, Iran, in 1931. She led a rich and fulfilling life, marked by her creativity, warmth, and dedication to her family.
Jahan was the beloved widow of Amir Aman Amirfazli, to whom she was a devoted partner until his passing. She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing as a grandmother of Cyrus, Lily, Niki, and Arya Amirfazli, a mother-in-law to Carmela Valente-Amirfazli, and aunt to Mahmoud Salmasizadeh, Yasi and Hom Amirparviz.
After spending most of her life in Tehran and graduating from the American Missionary High School, Jahan made the decision to move closer to her sons in Canada in 1993. It was there she spent her remaining years, enveloped by the love and care of her family.
Jahan was known for tailoring exquisite dresses, knitting sweaters, Kenzo, and cooking dishes that brought the family together around the table.
Jahan’s graceful mannerism and elegance touched all who knew her. She leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy of love, creativity, and resilience will forever be remembered.
A reception service will be held at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd, Toronto, on Monday, April 15th, from 4 to 6 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Women’s College Hospital Foundation (for the purchase of two new Ultrasound machines (https://wchfdonorimpactreport2022.wchf.ca/fdc-foundation-inspires-giving-for-new-equipment/) or Hope Mission of Edmonton (https://hopemission.com/), causes close to Jahan's heart, as a tribute to her generous spirit.
