Ivorine Powell

October 26, 1952 -  October 18, 2017

Ivorine Powell, nee Chambers, 64, died unexpectedly at 10:51pm on October 18, 2017 at Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital surrounded by her family members, daughter Karen, granddaughter Elisha, son Nigel and son-in-law, Vernon.

Ivorine was born in Mandeville, Jamaica on October 26, 1952 to parents Clara Baker and John Chambers (both predeceased). Ivorine was the second of five children for her parents; in order: Eldest sister Sylvia, Ivorine, Eldest Brother Randa (predeceased), Third sister Juliet, and youngest and second brother Devon.

Ivorine spent her teen years in the town of Mandeville and Kingston, Jamaica, where she attended first and middle school and worked various jobs and then migrated to Canada in 1972 where she married and had her three children; in order: Eldest daughter Lorna, Eldest son Nigel and youngest daughter, Karen.

Ivorine was a dedicated employee at Magna International in Concord, ON for over 27 years. In the meantime over the years, Ivorine became a grandmother of 7 grandchildren: Samantha, LeKeshia, Elisha, Renee, Ryhanna, Ryan, and Joshua then furthermore a great grandmother of Isaiah, Malachi and Aniyah.

Ivorine is survived by her siblings: Sister Sylvia with nieces and nephew Patricia, Marcia, Evon and Roy, Sister Juliet with nephew Ricardo and nieces Monique and Shontae and Brother Devon. Ivorine had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews who she was very fond of.

Ivorine is as well survived by her immediate family, Children: Lorna, Nigel, Karen, Son in Law Vernon, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, devoted friends for 40 years plus such as Naomi Austin , Ianti Howell, Edwin and many, many more friends that have come along the way.

Ivorine will be dearly missed by all who knew her and of her. She fought through life and her health battles with courage, dignity, strength and uttermost grace. She is now at the right hand of God.
