Isaac Francis Harun MOREITHI, age 89, passed away peacefully at home in Burlington, Ontario on Tuesday, May 16th 2023. Isaac was born in Nyeri, Kenya on November 10, 1933 and son of Harun Kibuka Kihuni, Debra Muthoni and step-mother Loise Wamaitha. Isaac was the loving husband of Rev. Eleanor Carr Moreithi and loving father to Maria Muthoni Moreithi, Jeremy Karimi Moreithi, Martin Gitonga Moreithi and Elayna Wanja Wanjira Ciuzio. Isaac was the grandfather to Nik Golomazov and wife Angelique Golomazov, Christian Oliver and wife Teal Oliver, Stephanie Bilas and husband Dr. Peter Bilas, Anthony Ciuzio, and Leonardo Ciuzio and brother to Susan Wamucii Kiragu, Timothy Gitonga, Elijah Waicanguru, Miriam Wamucie Igeria, Dr. Kibuka Gethaiga, Dr. Dan Gikonyo, and Veronica W. Kebuka. Isaac was father-in-law to Alison Oliver, Tatiana Tanney and Charles Ciuzio.
Isaac received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Sir George Williams University and his Master's Degree in Economics from McGill University. After graduating university he returned to Kenya where he was the Assistant Secretary for the East African Community and then became the General Manager of the Kenya Tea Development Authority. Isaac then began his career as a diplomat for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) where he was the Area Service Officer in Rome, Italy and then moved to Accra, Ghana where he was the Senior Agricultural Advisor and Country Representative. Isaac and family moved to Washington D.C. where he worked for the World Bank and was the Deputy Resident Representative of the World Bank in Lusaka, Zambia. Isaac then completed his career with the World Bank as a Senior Economist.
