Beloved Irene Kopoulos, age 78, passed away on Saturday February 29, 2020 at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket, Ontario.

Irene was born March 10, 1941 in Dafna, Greece and was married to cherished Nick Kopoulos who passed away on July 28, 2003. Irene and Nick are now resting peacefully together in a place of warmth and comfort, living in the hearts of many they touched.

Irene is survived by her brother Lendros and wife Marietta, her daughter Gina and husband John, her son Mike and wife Mona, and many other family members here in Canada and in Greece.

Irene was a loving grandmother to Alyssa, Vanessa and Matthew and adored them enormously.

Irene spent much of her life along side her husband Nick owning and operating restaurants. Although the work was tiring, Irene found enjoyment in making her guests feel special by genuinely caring for them as if they were family.

Irene’s personal life was quite similar to her work life. It was typical to find Irene driving her children across the province for sports activities and being the second home & mother to many of her children’s friends. Irene enjoyed Greek music and weddings, the opportunity to spend special moments with those closest to her.
